Fungal and red algae treatment
Red algae, green algae, black fungus and lichen all grow on the exterior of Irish houses, usually worst on the north side and beneath trees. Washing alone spreads it. It must be treated with a detergent that kills it.

Would highly recommend Jmc power cleaning. Contacted James last Friday for a quote. He said he would do the job today (Wednesday), and arrived at 9.00 a.m. on the button. Excellent job completed very efficiently and without fuss. Cleaned the roof, the windows and gutters, paths, driveway and surrounding walls. The house is like new again. Many thanks James
How it is done
Identify
James identifies the growth and the surface it is on. Red algae on dash and black fungus on paving are treated differently.
Treat
The detergent is applied at low pressure and left to work.
Rinse Or Leave
Some surfaces are rinsed down; others are left so the treatment continues to work over the following weeks.

Can it simply be pressure washed off?
The colour can be washed off for a time, but the spores remain and the growth returns, often worse. Treatment is what makes the difference.
Is the treatment safe around plants and pets?
James keeps it off flower beds and grass, rinses where necessary and will advise how long to keep pets off a treated surface.
Do you treat a single wall?
Yes. One gable, one patio or one section of roof. It does not have to be the whole house.
