About James McCarthy

James McCarthy owns and runs JMC Power Cleaning. He has provided power washing for over 20 years, covering roofs, driveways, patios, dashed walls and uPVC, together with the exterior painting that often follows a thorough wash. The business is fully insured and James is on every job himself. Where a job needs a second pair of hands he brings help, but he is the one who prices the work, carries it out and answers the phone afterwards.

In James's own words: "All our work is carried out to a very high standard. We go above and beyond when carrying out our work to make sure that customers are satisfied. When doing a job for someone, if they need an extra bit of work done, we'll do it free of charge." That is how he has always worked, and it is why most of his jobs come from people who were recommended by a neighbour.

There are no premises to visit. James travels to the customer, across County Galway, County Westmeath and County Offaly, the countryside and the outskirts of towns. Call him on 087 920 9411, describe the job and where you are, and he will visit and provide a free quotation.

Can dashed walls be cleaned without losing the chipping?

Yes. Dash is never cleaned at high pressure. It is softwashed with specialist detergents that remove fungal growth and red algae from marble chipping dash, Therling dash and other smooth or textured finishes, leaving the chipping intact.

How is moss removed from a roof?

The moss is scraped off first, then a biocide is applied to treat what remains in the joints and slow regrowth. The roof is then washed at low pressure. The method is suitable for all roof types.
